Hi, I'm Manu.

15 years of building and operating systems at scale — from embedded telecoms to enterprise infrastructure. The journey started with C, Java, and Python, moved through 4G node development in telecommunications, and led to managing a fleet of 600+ servers powering high-traffic business applications. That path built deep roots in distributed systems and reliability engineering.

Automation is what turns a 600-server estate into something a small team can operate with confidence. Kubernetes orchestration, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code across AWS and Azure are the foundation — not just tooling, but the practice that keeps complex systems predictable and teams focused on what matters. Observability is a first principle here: Grafana and Icinga dashboards tell the story that logs alone can't. Apache httpd and Nginx have been reliable companions through countless deployments.

Where platform engineering meets site reliability. Systems that scale gracefully and fail predictably — that's the goal. Performance testing and threat modeling aren't afterthoughts; they're foundational. From Cloudflare edge optimization to enterprise CMS architectures, the focus is always on resilient patterns that serve real business needs. More recently: exploring AI solutions and their operational implications at production scale.

The full lifecycle includes knowing when to let go. That 600-server infrastructure? It was eventually retired in favor of a modern SaaS solution — a complex migration managed without business disruption. Sometimes the best architecture decision is recognizing when to evolve beyond what you built.

Unix is home. OpenWrt and microcontrollers are weekend projects. Day-to-day, it's agile delivery and project planning with the team — but nothing beats staying hands-on with the technology. Proven patterns over reinventing basics, and the best architecture is always the one your team can actually maintain.

This blog is where those 15 years of lessons, mistakes, and patterns get written down — practical takes on infrastructure, automation, and building systems that last. If any of that resonates, the best place to start is the latest posts.
